Sleep and Harriet are two things that do not go together……….. She has never slept well.
I was under the illusion that babies that didn’t sleep was the parents fault for not having a routine in place and sticking to it. Oh how wrong I was and I apologise for being a smug mother with the perfect baby as I now realise that it couldn’t be further from the truth.
I have really struggled with Harriet and her sleeping patterns and continue to do so. She will regularly wake between three and five times a night sometimes more. I vowed never to let my girls bed share with us but this went out of the window a long time ago. I will often resort to having her in bed with us just so that I can get some sleep. Amelie on the other hand was the model baby. Sleeping through from about three months she slept when I wanted her to where I wanted to with very little complaint. In fairness to Harriet she has suffered from really bad silent refulx and food intolerance’s which make lying down uncomfortable for her. However the thought of a good nights sleep is something I have written on my letter to Father Christmas.
So when Johnson’s Baby sent us some of their Baby Bedtime range I was so excited at the thought of something to help her sleep. We are fans of the Johnson’s NO MORE TANGLES range and have used Johnsons Baby Shampoo for years (even before children!).
Armed with Johnson’s Baby BEDTIME BATH, BEDTIME LOTION and BEDTIME CREAM I embarked upon a new nightly routine in the quest for a better night’s sleep.
The girls absolutely loved the Baby BEDTIME BATH. They had so much fun playing in the bubbles that I struggled to get them out of the bath. I think I might have added too much to the running water the first night. It was like a cartoon with bubbles everywhere.
After the bath we used the baby BEDTIME CREAM – it was everything you would want from a cream. It is gloriously thick Amelie said it smells of flowers. It is easily absorbed by skin leaving it feeling soft without being greasy. I think it made quite a good hand cream. The girls thought it was great. Harriet squealed in delight when I got it out and then screamed in frustration when I put it away.
JOHNSON’S Baby BEDTIME range contains NaturalCalm a patented blend of natural aromas, and has been proven to help your baby sleep better when it used as part of 3 step nightly routine
After a few nights following our new routine alternating between the lotion and the cream there was a definite improvement in Harriet’s sleeping pattern. She still waking for a late feed but I think that this is more down to routine and the fact that she will not drink more than 4oz of milk at a time. However once we put her back down at about 11pm she is much more settled with less thrashing about and has started to sleep through until about 6.30-7.00am.
If like us you have a baby that has fretful disrupted sleep I would definitely recommend using the JOHNSON’S Baby BEDTIME range.
